Visiting Wesleyan - driving from Boston

I am looking for hotel recommendations. We are flying into Boston on a Tuesday late afternoon and have a tour at Wesleyan on Wednesday afternoon. I see the drive is about two hours. Should we stay in Middletown? I see an Inn at Middletown, is it worth the cost? Or would you stay in Boston and just drive the next morning to Middletown? Ot stay somewhere in between Boston and Middletown?

We stayed at the Inn at Middletown when we visited. It was winter, and it snowed so it was ideal to be so close. Most other families there were visiting or had children at the college. We walked along Main Street and had lunch in one of the restaurants. I would recommend it.

Inn at Middletown, or one of the chain hotels in Cromwell or Rocky Hill - there are several Marriott properties in those towns.

I would personally stay at the Delamar West Hartford.

We went to Mystic for the afternoon add dinner, stayed at the Marriott, and drove up to Wes in the morning. It was part of a long NE tour of schools, so it was nice to have a non-college break and visit the aquarium, etc.
