I'm so worried about this. They were already warning parents about changes to pre-k when it was looking like budget cuts just due to the loss of federal workers and not the $1 billion sabotage by congress. My kid is going to prek 4 next year, worried that will be the first thing to get cut - are there even enough private spaces to absorb the loss of DCPS prek?

I really hope they find some way to stop this, this is going to be so awful if it goes through. And for no good reason whatsoever. I'm so angry.

Maybe private nanny shares from all of the people who are getting cut? But, yeah, it's going to be tough for families - especially families who need public preK spots so that they can continue to work.

Contact Democrat US senators and plead with them to vote NO on the budget resolution until there are changes made to it—like allowing DC to continue with its 2025 budget.
