HS Principal Feedback

I am disappointed with how a HS Principal handled a discipline incident with my son. I would like to give honest feedback to the Principal, but I’m afraid that it will have harmful effects on my son. My experience with Principals is that they see themselves as the one who GIVES the feedback. This Principal seems like they’re not going to be receptive to hearing feedback from a regular civilian parent. I also don’t want the Principal to share any of my discussions or feedback with other APs or staff, because I don’t want it to have any impact on my son. Meaning, treat him differently, grade him differently, or just gossip about him. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s happened before. I’ve also thought of involving the director but I wonder if the director will always side with the Principal being a former Principal themselves.
Has anyone here ever had a successful experience sharing their feedback with a Principal? Or Admin in general?

I tried to get support in the past as a teacher. I'm not a teacher anymore because the admin have a way of turning the crime and violence around as the teachers fault for being poor at their job. The union turns a blind eye.

There is no way to give feedback where it won’t be discussed with others. Once you say something you lose control over what happens to the information.

I think you need to get over your fears here.

You had a bad experience and you should be ok with giving that feedback to the principal and/or their director. You should not accept, as normal, that your son would have negative consequences happen to him as a result of you giving feedback on your principal. As an MCPS parent and a taxpaying citizen, it is your right to give feedback, even if it's negative.

If your son WERE to be treated negatively or differently as a result of your feedback, that's another complaint to issue and go to the system about.

Parents have to stop worrying about the hurt feelings of MCPS staff and leadership and prioritize advocating for their kids over the emotions or perceptions of grown-ups.

It's disgusting that parents can't share with the "leader" of a school without it being told around including to the PTA people. If it's a safety thing like one that your kid could pose issue for school, yes, of course they should alert their staff. If not, SUp.

Parents wouldn't need to advocate if whoever was doing whatever job they are correctly supposed to be doing.
