I'm in my 50s and DD 13. I remember how I watched when I was her age and she watched when she was young and how much we loved it. As corny as it is I admit it's why I love it cause that innocence is pretty much gone these days.
I really love the songs and feel like watching it again after years of not seeing it. I can't believe it's been 60 years! |
It's my favorite movie. My daughters love it just as much also. |
It ticks every box. Scenery, children, banging tunes, and naughty nuns getting one over on the nazis. What’s not to love? |
Is it playing on TV or something? |
It just turned 60. |
I love that it's drama without being drama ![]() It's really well done in any timeframe. It's real. |
If you want to do a girls trip go to Austria and do the Sound of Music tours. I did it with my mom many moons ago. |
I love it too! It was the first movie I ever saw in a theatre. I was 6 and it was the mid-70s. |
Julie Andrews is truly a queen. |
So did I, on the very first day of my very first trip to Europe! LOVE Salzburg. |
Ok but usually there is a re release or something to celebrate. |
It's an amazing movie. I also love Mary Poppins, still to this day. |
The Captain and Maria dance scene - the Laendler (I had to look that up) - is movie romance at its best.
|
this movie is perfect. the ONLY thing I wish was different is Julie Andrew's hair. Why she had to have that ridiculous cut I have no idea - it wasn't fashionable or flattering 60 years ago... or really ever. |
It will be coming to KC soon, so you can see it live. |
