We need to find an apartment complex for my mother in law. She is very picky / fancy. I am having a hard time distinguishing between apartment complexes from afar. Does anyone have any recommendations? The fancier the better. |
We’re getting some pricey condos, but I haven’t seen much that’s nice for rent. Does she want a retirement community with levels of care? |
Does she just want fancy or other old people? The place in Tyson’s that just opened is pretty nice. I think it’s called the Mather.
Turnberry tower in Rosslyn is fancy. |
Do mean any rental in Fairfax County?
|
I know some older people who live here:

Ovation at Park Crest in Tysons is pretty fancy, skews older |
Depending on her age, there are some very elite 55+/assisted living like The Providence. There are not really any "luxury" apartments in Fairfax county. She could also look into condos. |
OP here. She does not want 55+ assisted living. She's looking for an apartment. She would prefer to be close to Fairfax city. |
I visited with my IL. The people there are SOOOOO old. Like 90. It was very nice though. |
Fairfax City is not where the fancy people live. She needs to be in McLean or DC. |
Theres fancy new stuff around Tysons. Brand new stuff. Look there. |
Heming in McLean/Tysons is nice. I just toured the new apt broad & washington in Fall Church, right above the new Whole Foods, also super nice! |
What about Reston? There was a nice building there that my in-laws (VERY picky) lived in while waiting for their house to be build. Ryan Kerrigan of the Redskins lived there at the same time. Can’t remember the name of it, but it was on Market Street overlooking Reston Town Square Park. |
I like Fairfax proper just fine, but I haven’t seen any fancy apartments. There are a lot that are fine for a young professional, but they’re not fancy. Just nice.
I second Reston and Tyson’s for those. McLean has one but it doesn’t even seem “fancy”. But if she’s coming from somewhere like Arizona, she’s going to be disappointed with the selection (and prices). We just don’t have the same kind of luxury apartment living concepts here. |
