Instead of Trump annexing Canada, maybe the Blue States should just merge with Canada. The economy of the Blue States + Canada would be more than twice the size of the Red States:
If all U.S. states that voted Democratic (“blue states”) in the 2020 presidential election merged with Canada, the resulting populations and GDPs for the new Canada and the remaining “Red America” would be as follows: New Canada (Canada + Blue States): • Population: Approximately 198 million • Canada: ~38 million • Blue States: ~160 million • GDP: Approximately $17.6 trillion • Canada: ~$1.6 trillion • Blue States: ~$16 trillion Red America (Remaining Red States): • Population: Approximately 130 million • GDP: Approximately $7.4 trillion Sources and Methodology: • Population Data: Based on U.S. Census Bureau estimates for 2020 and Statistics Canada data. • GDP Data: Derived from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and Statistics Canada. These figures illustrate that the combined entity of Canada and the blue states would have a significantly larger population and economy compared to the remaining red states. Plus, the most powerful red states are Texas and Florida, which have significant blue minorities. The Red States of America would probably not be able to survive as a united country. After it falls apart, Canada and Mexico could each annex half of Red America, completely annihilating MAGA as anything beyond a reactionary fringe movement for dummies. |
