Instead of Trump annexing Canada, maybe the Blue States should just merge with Canada. The economy of the Blue States + Canada would be more than twice the size of the Red States:

If all U.S. states that voted Democratic (“blue states”) in the 2020 presidential election merged with Canada, the resulting populations and GDPs for the new Canada and the remaining “Red America” would be as follows:

New Canada (Canada + Blue States):
• Population: Approximately 198 million
• Canada: ~38 million
• Blue States: ~160 million
• GDP: Approximately $17.6 trillion
• Canada: ~$1.6 trillion
• Blue States: ~$16 trillion

Red America (Remaining Red States):
• Population: Approximately 130 million
• GDP: Approximately $7.4 trillion
