| What’s your school and would you recommend it as a great place to work or not? Why? |
| Really? You think most teachers are going to write the name of their school? Are you new around here? Did you not hear about a "scandal" last year or two ago that eventually led to a change in Superintendent? Most fear retaliation if they say something about their school. |
Really? There aren’t any schools teachers would say is a great place to work? MCPS is worse than I thought. |
| Are you someone looking to work at an MCPS school? I agree that most people are going to be apprehensive about sharing bc they don’t want anyone to figure out their identity. |
| MCPS can be great to work in but it really depends on your personality, admin support and the local school demographics. I have been much happier since moving away from state assessed subject areas and into electives. |
Y’all are dumb for this. Would you write a review of your workplace that could be traced back to you? Stop trying to stir things up and find something else to do. |
Oh my goodness this response is crazy. God forbid you recommend your school because it could be traced back to you ((gasp)). I guess working for this system makes you paranoid too. That’s sad. |
| ^Maybe posters don't want to say good because they don't want others to find that hidden gem. And if they have something not so good to say, they are trying to do what their momma taught them: if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. Little did momma know there would be this "anonymous" site one day. |

While I agree that teachers should protect their anonymity, with each school having dozens, if not hundreds, of teachers (not to mention other school staff), it seems like posters could make general observations without fear of reprisal. There are staff surveys of each school available on the MCPS website that might provide some data. Here is the page that you can use to select a school. https://ww2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/ Once you’ve selected a school, select “Reports” (next to “Map + Directions”), then under “School Learning Environment Survey Results”, select the option for that particular school. Then you can choose the Staff Climate Survey. |
| School dynamics change depending on lots of different things : maybe there is a tough year of kids, amount of new teachers, amount of teachers leaving, admin, etc. It can quickly change when the above change. |
Thank you! |
| I am happy where I work, but I know a lot of teachers who complain constantly. Just because someone badmouths a school, doesn’t mean it’s horrible. And just because someone loves it there, doesn’t mean everyone is having the same experience. |
DCUM is not real. It's out of touch with the real world |
??? If you like your school and think it's a great place to work, wouldn't you want your identity known? |
DP. On this site?? |
