I don't really want to hear from Gray supporters but just from people who voted for Fenty. If you believe that school reform is THAT important and he switches parties would you still vote for him? |
I would. Party is meaningless in DC. |
I have voted for Republicans in the past when I thought they were the best candidate for the job. |
YES! But I cannot see him switching parties. It is would be devastating to his political future. My 9 year old was trying to convince me this morning that he should run as a Republican. He kept saying, "he can keep his same beliefs. We just really need him to fix the schools." |
Absolutely.
I got my Rep DH to change parties to vote yesterday and I'd in a heartbeat vote Rep to get Fenty reelected. |
I sure would, but I'm not sure what that would do to his career. |
He has said he won't switch parties.
Maybe he'll run as an independent? Either way, I'll write him in. I'm despondent. |
In a heartbeat - I don't think party affiliation matters much in DC either. |
What would this accomplish? He'd probably lose by a bigger margin, the Gray folks would get voters who didn't vote in the primary. |
I would vote for him as a Republican, Independent or Write-In. |
Running as an Independent isn't an option. The deadline to file that paperwork has already passed. It's R or nothing. |
I would vote for Fenty regardless of party affliation. |
In a heartbeat.
It is a disheartening truth that the basis for his loss as NPR stated this morning was because in the "last few months DC voters saw him as aloof, arrogant and out of touch". That's more important than a politician who actually did what he said he was going to do, apparently. F*ck the proof in the pudding. Give me a smile and a handshake or I'll knock you down. I really don't think he's gonna do it. I'd be worried it may create more divisiveness in this city. |
Fenty concedes, will not run as a Republican and will support Gray in general election.

I sure would vote for him if he ran as a Republican.
I plan to write Fenty in no matter what he decides. Gray has some work in front of him if he really wants to unite this city. He didn't spend too much time speaking to voters who are happy with the direction of the city. |
