Capital One visa for airline miles bonus?

Anonymous
Does anyone have a capital one venture travel visa? Is it good? I currently use Amazon visa for the rewards but want to switch to a card that earns miles.

This brand seems to be spending the most on advertising right now- is it a good one?

What is your intended use for the points? The max value is by transferring to one of their airline partners. Is there one in particular that you think you will utilize?

It’s not great for domestic carriers but the refunds on travel are good and super easy to use.

We have the X and we've racked up 200K points in the past two years, can't wait to use them to travel overseas!

Chase points are the easiest to use and have the best travel partners. Most people looking to “play the game” long term start with Chase points.

Chase, AMEX, and Capital One are the big three. You should compare transfer partners and see which you think you’re most likely to utilize. Personally I burn AMEX points for flights and move Chase points to Hyatt for hotels.

+1. We have a bunch of cap 1 points and will probably just burn them for cash

What is the advantage of transferring Chase points to Hyatt?

Chase transfers 1:1 to Hyatt and Marriott but the average Hyatt hotel costs significantly fewer points to redeem so the redemption value is much higher. Hyatt has had a few devaluations but it still has a ton of sweet spots.

Cap 1 has limited sign up bonus now where you earn 75k points and also a $250 travel credit. If you don’t have a Chase Sapphire yet, I’d consider cap 1. Think the annual fee is $95. I had the higher end X and just signed my husband up for one. Transferred points to Virgin Red and booked Europe for the summer.

I would do Chase Sapphire Reserve for travel.

Do you spend much on Amazon or WF? You won’t beat the 5% rewards on a Prime credit card for those.

Yes its a great one and the easiest to use. Right now there is an elevated bonus offer of 75,000 miles and a $250 travel credit. That's a great deal! Its usually just the 75k points.

If you want 100k points offer instead of a travel credit you can use my referral link: https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/lp/referrals/?referralCode=8Z6L9YKT&customerName=Lauren&programCode=3006&pId=923811&oC=COFR58RSsw

Go with Chase. Capital One has abysmal customer service.

We have the VentureX because of the lounge, but wish we had done the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
