| I am 47 and struggling with hair thinning and balding spots now. Derm prescribed 2.5MG-if I take one or cut it in half, will I grow face hair? I am petrified of this but I dont know what is worse, my current balding or chance of facial hair |
| I take 2.5. I have more peach peach fuzz on my face but not too noticeable. I haven’t used a dermaplane yet, but probably will in the near future. Personally, I would be much more concerned about balding spots on your head. You can always remove excess facial hair. Good luck! |
| Laser the hair if it thickens. |
| Is this helpful if your hair is thinning versus balding? |
| I would cut 2.5mg dosage in half and go from there |
| I’m on 2.5 daily. No facial hair |
| I am a 150 lb woman and my doctor said that the recommended dose for women was half of the 2.5 mg pill, which is typically prescribed for men. I think it would be more effective if I took the whole 2.5 mg tablet. However, the one time I that, my blood pressure got very low and I don’t want to repeat that experiment. I would love to hear others’ experience with the 2.5mg dose. |
| Is minoxidil known to lower blood pressure? I thought it raised it |
| You are old enough to take the dutasteride/minoxidil combination from musely. I'd do that. |
If you have blonde peach fuzz on white skin, lasers don’t work though. Right? |
Or spend a fraction of the cost of Musely and get the same generic drugs from a regulated pharmacy for pennies. My minoxidil costs $3.47 a month |
Does it work? or should I go topical minoxidil route first? |
You wouldn't need lasering in that case silly. |
| OP, you should take 1/2 of 2.5mg and see how that goes! I think the oral will likely be more effective than the topical |
| I tried oral minoxidil last week (2.5 mg) and had a weird reaction so switched to topical. |
