FYI - Our dealer says now is a great time to buy existing inventory - deals to be had

Took the car in for service today. We are not currently in the market for a car as ours are relatively new but our service guy told us that sales have been very low since all of the shakeup with the federal government and employees. If you want a car and it's already sitting on a lot somewhere, it's actually a great time to buy before the tariff cars come in with an average $10k markup estimated by the trade association.

Just thought I would pass it along. I have no dog in the fight as we are many years away from needing a new car.

Car dealerships say it's a great time to buy? Who would have thunk it?

My dealer always say it’s a good time to buy, too. Even 3 am on a Tuesday works for him!

They have raised prices as soon as the tariffs started but are not lowing them.

My realtor says it's a great time to buy. And it's also a great time to sell!!

They are no lying. Prices are going to go crazy high soon. So while cars are expensive now, it is nothing compared to what they will cost soon.

It will be interesting when those high taxed cars are sitting on the lot because no one can afford to buy them.

I bought a car recently. Jim Coleman Cadillac. No I dont work there. I bought used.

What suprised me was number of 1-3 years old cars on lot with very low mileage.

I bought an 18 month old used car with 9,000 miles on odometer.

surprising amount of cars ware being turned in under 24 months old and under 20,000 miles.

If you go to CarGuru there are a lot of alsost new inventory. Something that did not exist two years ago.

No I don’t think you know how depression works. With mass layoffs, people will be buying groceries not cars. They will be desperate to sell.

Then the prices will go down due to lack of demand.

Economics and capitalism are like Nature and always balance things out.
