DC BOEE Worse than Barry Era

All you people who are worried about Gray returning DC to the days of Barry should take a look at what Adrian Fenty has done to the Board of Elections. Polls have been closed for nearly 5 hours and virtually no votes have been counted. I could count faster with an abacus. Delaware and New York were able to count votes for state-wide races in less time. This is ridiculous.

Jeff,
The polls are closed. I hope you've been celebrating!

Yeah, the Board of Elections was terrible. It seemed almost fishy how long it took them to count computerized votes. I mean entire states with hundreds of thousands more votes to count, accomplished the task far swifter and accurate than BOE.

BOEE was also not responsive on sending out absentee ballots. I requested one on August 31st. It never arrived.

I would have been celebrating if I had known the vote count which I didn't.

Does that imply that you voted for Gray? Or at least are happy that he won? or just happy that Fenty lost.

How about Kwame and Phil?

What do you think about Doug Sloan's vote? Respectable or disappointing.

Number 8,388,288,019 on the list of Important Things: Tally Election Votes In Under 12 hours.

For context, this comes right before "DPW Leaf Pickup on Thursday, Not Wednesday As Advertised" but after "Lincoln Park Trash Cans Reek of Dog Poop"

"Important Things" is a free service of "DC Urban Moms & Dads".

I'm just happy Fenty lost. I voted for Kwame and Phil and I'm happy that they won. I am no longer a Sloan fan because I found out that he accepted the endorsement of the National Organization of Marriage. I asked him to reject the endorsement and he went into radio silence. I haven't heard from him since.

Agreed. Isn't getting the count right more important than doing in quickly? It's not like you had to wait 3 weeks for the results - you go to sleep, you wake up, and you know who the winner is.

Sadly, I'm not joking. I had a discussion with him prior to his entering the race. Same sex marriage had not become a law at that point. I asked if he supported it and he said he thought that there should be a difference between religious marriages and legal marriages. He supported gays having legal marriages only. I told him the anti-gay crowd would never accept that position and trying to split the difference on this kind of issue never worked. He should pick a side and go with it. I guess I didn't expect him to pick the side he did. But, since EHN is so strong on the issue, he may have felt it would be a good differentiator. It did differentiate him enough to put me back in the EHN camp.
