Where to by athletic shoes with large selection of different brands

Anonymous
I'm looking for a good pair of walking shoes. I walk 45 minutes to an hour on a treadmill 3-4 times per week. I've had On Clouds and Hokas, which I liked at first, but after about six to nine months, they start rubbing the back of my ankle and cause blisters. I just bought a pair of On Cloud Monsters over the weekend, and they just didn't feel good on my feet this morning after an hour of walking. I'm going to return them if I can.

Is there a great store with a very large selection that anyone can recommend, where I can try on different brands? I bought the On Cloud at Comfort 1, so I'm looking for a store that carries more options than On and Hoka. And any recommendations of walking shoes that you love?

Thanks!

RnJ in Rockville has a great selection and wonderful team members. You should be replacing your shoes every 300-400 miles FYI. Also, if your shoes were giving you blisters, you may need a higher sock. The people at RnJ will know best.

No store will accept shoes that have been "worn off carpet". That is just not good policy to do so, as they cannot resale them as new.

You have to roll the dice when it comes to shoes whether they will feel good after wearing in. In the future, you could try them indoors for a while, but not even on a treadmill which will scuff the soles.

If you walk that much, no shoe will last 6 months. Road runner has lots of options. I like ASICS.

Your shoes are packing out. The cushioning is getting worn and the shoes are not a snug around your feet, that is what is causing the blisters. I know it is expensive and seemingly wasteful, but you need to replace your shoes every 6 months. Many running stores have programs where they take old shoes to be recycled into playground padding or mats.
