Vince Gray Is Crying Like A Baby

Mommy, mommy, keep the polls open for two-extra hours!! I neeeeeeed it!! It's not FAIR. The abnormalities were much more widespread than BOEE has acknowledged.

Yup, there's a strong candidate for you.

It's almost as bad as "I'm taking my toys and going to the Republican Party".

No no no. The Republicans are drafting him. They want him. We want him. The entire country wants him. He is going to sacrifice himself for the public good.

Here's the real "gentrified DC". Clearly you above posters could care less about the people in wards 6, 7 and 8 who show up early in order to begin their first shift, and MUST leave after a 15 or 30 minute wait for machines to work in order to get to work and pay their bills. For many of the least resourceful of DC city residents, the opportunity to vote may not come again until the evening. This Republican bent is frightening, next we'll have Republican Mayor Fenty and the REAL uncloaked conservative she, is Rhee, inviting Sarah Palin for Back To School addresses next fall. Is this what we're after?

Poles have been open for how many days (weeks)?
This is not a party/class/ward/race struggle. If you didn't come out in the many days leading up to the race then should the city cater to you and your lack of planning?

Yes. I'd rather see a Republican Fenty and a R Rhee and having Glen Beck talk to students about personal responsibility than Vince Gray and the teachers union back in charge. It is that important.

Relax. I'm an (I) at heart, but formerly registered (R). Now registered (D). Voted Gray. Forces are not yet aligned to elect an (R) mayor. Even one who used to be a (D). Navigating a party change is a delicate and skillful art - one that Fenty has not yet attained. Gray is our new Mayor. Bet on it.

Although this is presumably a dead issue now, I'd still like to note that it is standard political practice to have poll watchers and to complain when you feel that there is a problem.

Democracy 101 as DW says.

Were machines broken in Ward 3.

22,000 people early voted. More than 90,000 voted last night. No one is asking that the city cater to poor sections of the city, just don't dish them shit and expect them to accept it as a steak sandwich.
