Another pitch the chicken question

Anonymous
Cooked a couple thinish chicken breasts in the crockpot on high for a little over 2 hours. Power went out. Let the chicken cool in the pot on the counter for about an hour. Put about room temp chicken in pot into freezer for about 12 hours until the power came back on. It normally takes maybe 2-2.5 hours to cook that amount of chicken in the pot at that temperature fully. Ok to eat?

It didn't stop cooking when the power went out. Maybe heat it up for a little longer? You should be fine.

i would boil the chicken soup in the other case. but in this case, i'd probably toss. i feel like boiling makes me feel better but it's harder to ensure that super high heat level when you're cooking a solid.

when in doubt, toss it out......better than the alternative, when in doubt eat it and then have the squirts for the next few days and feel like you want to die. At least that's my motto.
