Food, Cooking, and Restaurants

Okay, I am dying to try these two places but can I take the kids, really? I am thinking weekend brunch first thing before they get too crowded.
I have two boys aged 7 and 4 years. Thanks in advance. |
| I would not personally and we take our kids out a lot. ChurchKey is a bar scene that gets SLAMMED, tables are very hard to come by and people are 5 deep at the bar (at least). Birch and Barlye downstairs is a nice sit down restaurant focused on pairing good beer with food. My kids would be bored to tears in the environment, but my husband and I loved it when we went by ourselves. The restaurant is small and I wouldn't consider it kid friendly based on food, decor, etc. It was wonderful for an adult night out. |

We had lunch at ChurchKey one Saturday and there were several kids there - I would definitely go back with my 4 year old (it was very low key and not crowded). That said, while the beer was great the lunch choices weren't - basically just higher end bar food (i.e. panini and flats).
I'd consider taking DS to Birtch and Barley very early. |
| We took our two kids (3,5) to Churchkey. Upon entering we asked if the kids were okay and they said they were welcome until later in the evening. Fair enough, and great dinner. |
| I was trying to decide between brunch (with an 8 year old) or dinner (without one) at birch and barley. Considering the cost of a babysitter, I am leaning towards brunch, but was curious if anyone had tried it. |
