I'm no social justice warrior, just a regular middle-aged suburban mom. But I just can't stand the idea of helping to enrich people who are destroying our country.
Sooo, now that we've sold my husband's Tesla and deactivated our accounts on Zuckerberg and Musk owned social media, the next step on our list is closing our Amazon account. Ugh. Having Amazon has given me back my weekends so I'm going to miss it. But we're moving all our online buying to Target and a few smaller sites by mid-April. Next step: I'm making a list of all the shows and movies that we want to watch in our last 6 weeks of Amazon Prime Video membership. What do you think we should add to the list? (No recommendations needed from Trumpers, thanks. You have lousy taste. And morals.) |
I wouldn't even worry about making a list. Most shows/movies rotate between Prime, Netflix, Hulu and Max so they will come up on another streaming service eventually.
Even if they don't, you could just ...watch a different show. None of it is so great that it's worth planning for. |
The Tudors if you haven't already.
It's no big loss really, I hate how you get Amazon Prime video and then have to pay extra for almost everything cool anyway. Kudos to your DH. I should cancel Amazon as well. Nothing but crap sold on their now anyway, and whatever isn't crap I can get elsewhere if I need to. |
Do you get your money back if you paid for the year? |
Fleabag is worth watching, |
I also just canceled Amazon Prime. I didn't get money back but was notified of the number of days I had left for the month - I guess I was doing monthly billing, not sure really - and then free shipping, video will expire.
I'm still keeping my wish list and trying to find alternative places to buy things I buy routinely. I found my Illy espresso at World Market for example. Agree with pp above. Everything I wanted to watch on prime video included an extra charge anyway and this is just annoying. |
I enjoyed the Bosch series.
Applaud you for doing this. |
I was shocked at how much I enjoyed Beast Games on there. My kids wanted to watch because they are Mr. Beast fans. I found it to be a really entertaining game show. A cross of Squid Games/Survivor/Big Brother. |

I’m getting rid of WaPo. That Bezos message to the editorial staff was insane. We are still in the baby days and I haven’t found a suitable replacement for Amazon quick deliveries. Maybe Walmart is now better than Amazon even though I tried to avoid them before? |
The only thing I watch on Prime are their two fantasy shows, Rings of Power and Wheel of Time. The new season of Wheel is coming out in March and I'm hoping to get through it before my subscription dries up in April.
Otherwise, Prime just doesn't have that much that I want to see. Netflix has been better. And Disney, but we canceled that for cost reasons already. |
Derry Girls and Fisk if they're on Prime. |
It's worse to not support the Post. The newspapers are the only thing left working against the fascists. |
except under Bezos the WaPo is shifting so that it is part of the darkness that democracy dies under |
