Can anyone recommend a reputable process server? I looked online, but the reviews for all the entities I found were either mixed, or bad.
I am seeking legal custody of my children and need to serve my ex by the end of this week. The court clerk said I couldn't do it myself, but I really don't want to put friends or family in the middle of this by asksing them to do it. TIA |
I've used https://freestateinvestigations.com/ and they were quick. Not cheap, but "good, fast, cheap... pick two" applies to most things.
Sheriff's office also does service of process where I am: https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/sheriff/sections/service-of-process.html |
Your attorney should have a relationship with one or two. |
Ask your lawyer. |
Lawyers accept service for their clients. And if you are pursuing full custody, you need to be using a lawyer. |
Why are you asking for full parenting time on anything ? If your kids are abused, there are county resources for that that are low cost or no cost. Check your county website.
If it’s just abuse to you, it’s a very long and expensive “long shot” to “win” full care of children during a divorce of marriage. It’s not worth the time or money. Typically abuse stops after parents live apart because access stops. That is what judges believe and see routinely. If you are one of the unfortunate exceptions, you should have police record in place already. Try your sheriffs office or women’s shelter or men’s group for divorces. Good luck! |
