Can you ban “rags to riches” stories please?

It doesn’t seem to matter what the topic of discussion is. Someone always to find a way to work their heroism into the thread. I want to punch my screen every time I read one of those stories. Perhaps you could create a “rags to riches” section, so people who want to share their glory have a specific place to go. I’m just sick and tired of finding these stories of pluck without looking for them.

I was but a humble dcum poster when I started following Jen Hatmaker because of the thread. This interest led me to upper white class waspy circles. I worked hard, had excellent social skills, and was eventually hired to work at SFS as a kindergarten assistant. I met my husband there, he was a single dad, and now I live in a 4000 Sq ft home with our two dogs.

Honestly, it sounds like you're emotionally unstable, OP, if reading other people's stories online makes you want to punch your screen. Especially if they're positive instead of negative stories.

Those kinds of stories make it hard for me to feel proud of anything I’ve done, which isn’t very positive.

Stop comparing yourself to others. Work on yourself and get off DCUM if it makes you feel this way.

If you aren’t proud of how you have lived your life, turn it around. There is still time for you to create your own inspirational life story.

4000 sq foot? Unless it’s in Palisades, that’s lower middle class.
