Why Vegas?

Why do adults over 35 enjoy Vegas?

Food, shows, good weather, and the atmosphere is always happy (which you can't say about DC these days).

I don't gamble but I can find fun wherever I go. The last time spouse and I went to Vegas with friends we saw a show, had several delicious meals, went on a day trip to the Hoover Dam, had a fantastic spa day. It was a blast!

I enjoy it a lot and I don't gamble and I don't have any interest in gambling or casinos.

The last time I went DH and I paired it with Zion Nat'l Park. Then we stayed at the Venetian (the Wynn is better, but I enjoy the Venetian for nostalgia reasons and it is cheaper and the rooms are huge) and enjoyed three shows, Criss Angel and Cirque du Soleil and the Michael Jackson show, walked around a lot, ate really great food, and it was my DH's birthday and we went out to this place right outside the city where you can play with big construction equipment (he loved it).

You sound a little confrontational in your question there, sweetie.

Why should people have to defend why they like it to you?

I like to golf there. I also like the shows.

Always hated Vegas since we stayed at eh hotels when I was there for work conferences.

Then we stayed a couple nights at the Venetian on the tail end of spring break and had a lot of fun doing non gambling stuff. LOVED the Venetian and would like to go back just to stay there again

Downtown Las Vegas is seedy but cool. It’s an OK place if you like sad old downtowns in places like Columbia, SC, and want to see a similar place out west.

Shows, spas, big spectrum of food, nice pools, set up to cater to my indulgences

Went twice after touring canyons and such and never saw the appeal.

I don't consider it a place to go "experience Vegas" but instead a place to go that is sort of like an adult Disneyland of vice. I'm not there for a travel experience, I'm there for a hedonistic experience.

Hoover Dam was cooler than I expected, I’ll give it that.

I went for a concert. I thought I’d hate it (Vegas, not the concert). I actually liked it. I wouldn’t go back all the time and I don’t gamble, but we relaxed by the pool, ate good food, and saw a great show. I’d go back for another show. But I heard bed bugs are a big issue there at the moment.

Very tight concentration of great food, quality entertainment, spas, art, shopping.
