cetaohil SA cleanser

Anonymous
I have very sensitive skin. I’m also brown complexion. I tried ceraphil SA and I still have burning sensation next morning. No redness but this can’t be normal. Can someone recommend an exfoliant for sensitive skin. Doesn’t have to be SA but I have clogged pores in my nose and really need something. I’m almost 50 . I can’t do retinol but did start vitamin C low dose in morning.

Hero Cosmetics pore release

They also have a good cleanser and prebiotic moisturizer.

All very gentle.

I have the Cetaphil SA cleanser. Same issue as you, though my teen son with very sensitive skin can use it after workouts w/o issue (maybe because he’s oily and sweaty then?).

I have very dry sensitive skin and I can use Cerave with SA but then I need to moisturize a lot and I use Cerave for that too because everything else clogs my pores. Spacing it out every other day may help too.

Anyone use Is clinical . Could it be more gentle?

I have very sensitive skin and I really recommend going to a dermatologist. There are so many ingredients and it’s really, really hard to self diagnose and pick the right one. Like sulfur works great for me but I would never have guessed if a dermatologist hadnt told me to.

I’d use regular cetaphil gentle cleanser, and and in the lowest dose of trentinoin (applied sparingly at first, sandwiched between moisturizer, and gradually work your way up to more regular usage). Your derm can prescribe trentinoin - mine prescribes Altreno which is even gentler because it is suspended in a sort of lotion.

Adding that your derm can give you samples of Altreno so you can see how your skin reacts.

Sorry, I just noticed you said no retinol. You still may want to ask your derm about Altreno.

But if not, then I’d use Cetaphil gentle cleanser and try adding a serum with niacinimide just on your nose or where you want pores minimized. Ordinary makes a very inexpensive one, and Paula’s Choices makes a good one.

However, as someone who started noticing her pores around age 50, makeup is really your best friend, because nothing can actually change pore size.

Try the Avene Tolerance cleanser and lotion. I have the same issue with Cetaphil. Also try Azelic Acid. I like The Ordinary one. I have very sensitive skin and this combo makes my skin glow.

I too have sensitive skin (eczema on eyes especially) and am brown skin. What has helped is a less is more skin plan. I use cerave facial cleanser (the green and white bottle), followed by cetaphol daily exfoliater, then I use Vanicream and snail mucinex. My skin has never been so clear with little acne, hyperpigmentation dramatically less and a lot less oily.

Np with questions. Thanks for sharing your routine. To make sure I understand, you double cleanse? You daily use cerave cleanser and then cetaphil scrub, right? And what is snail mucinex, what does it do, where do you buy it? Thanks.
