Grocery store a ghost town since RTO

Just an observation, but I work night shifts so consistently run errands during the day when most people work. For the last few years I've been complaining/joking to my husband "doesn't anyone around here work??" when I go to Costco on a Tuesday and it's packed. Well, this week, I went to both Costco and our local Giant on different days and there was comparatively no one there. I guess all these feds were using "lunch hours" to grocery shop and run errands. Anyway - I feel for them with the swift change and job uncertainty, but it's making my errands a lot more enjoyable!

I've seen no difference. Our local DC metro Costco was crowded midday in the middle of the week before 2020 and local DC metro Costco is crowded mid day now.

Which Costco, OP?

I would rather people have work-life balance and clog up stores when I'm there, than have them all miserable chained to desks, just so I can shop in peace.

I WFH a few days a week and grocery shop during the day. I've noticed exactly no difference.

Or people are cutting back on spending or people are sick because everyone has the flu right now or you got there at a good time

This is not real. Most teleworking feds are not yet "back" to the office.
