what to check when picking up a new car

we are going to pick up our new car tommorrow.
what should I check before I sign the paper work.
1) scratch
2) paint
3) milage: what is the reasonable # on milage meter for a new car, if it is too high what should we do?
what else should i check. thanks a lot.

check to make sure it's the car you're supposed to be getting--we bought a 2007 Subaru a couple of years ago, got home and looked more closely at it and it was a 2006. We returned it.
Mileage should be pretty low, maybe a couple hundred miles?

your new car should not have a couple of hundred miles on it unless it was a demo, and you are paying demo price. very low miles, 30 . It is shipped via a truck to dealer, from factory. Even if transfered from another dealer, they don't drive them here.
