Given 100s of FAA firings today - is it safe for international family to fly into Fulles?

Anonymous
OS family are asking whether it is still safe for them to fly into Dulles (and likely east coast somewhere on the way).

Anyone know what the hundreds of FAA staff fired today means for US air safety? Should we advise family not to visit DMV at this time?

I had thought Dulles was safer than Reagan which has a military base and very busy strip. Are we at point where Dulles and Baltimore are also compromised by insufficient air traffic safety controllers?

Thanks in advance for any educated guesses …

I don’t think the layoffs were concentrated in any geographic area

No it’s not safe for an overseas family to fly into Dulles. But it’s totally ok for a single woman in the USA to fly into that airport.

My god, listen to yourself 🙄🙄🙄🙄

What a dumb question!

What a constructive response. Are you this helpful in RL?

International family asked me as they are concerned about traveling to the US and I have no idea.

No single woman in the USA has asked me about the safety of domestic flights .if they had I would have been happy to ask on their behalf. The family member asking is a single woman BTW.

There may be different air safety rules for international compared to domestic flights.

There was No need to make this question antagonistic. If you don’t have any idea, just move along.

Nope. I care too much about my family to put them on a plane currently.

The federal layoffs including the FAA layoffs are not just in D.C. the majority of federal workers don’t even live in the D.C. area. We have a concentration of them because if the government buildings and the contractor industry but you are no more or less safe flying into Dulles than into an airport in Milaukee.
All FAA employees who are being demoralized and laid off.

I’m on a flight now and DCA was a zoo with families traveling due to kids being out of school.

Putting that aside, I highly doubt I would be interested in visiting the US until some of this settles.

I overheard a number of people saying they were more nervous than usually, heck I was/am too, but duty calls.

No, none of this is safe. But Congress doesn't seem to care, the courts are too slow, and 50% of Americans voted for this. Sorry if your family ends up being affected in a safety incident.
