Too soon to book hotel in Rome summer 2026?

Is it too soon to book a hotel in Rome for Summer 2026?

I checked my preferred chain and most hotels are sold out. I’m hoping it’s because they haven’t opened up blocks yet—is that possible?

We went to Italy in summer 2024 and probably didn’t book until 6 months out (iirc).

Summer of 2025 is t even sold out and it’s a jubilee year. Pretty sure 2026 isn’t sold out. It’s probably just too early

I can't imagine that blocks are open 16 months out.
