Posted this in jobs and careers and it got deleted - sorry if it's been posted, but I had not seen it. This goes into a lot of detail about how DOGE was set up and operated to target DEI offices in the federal government and how they are targeting EEO offices next. The third phase is basically a witch hunt against anyone involved in DEI activities - even though a lot of those activities and training were encouraged. And some of the training was mandatory (at least in my org). I find it unconscionable that all of Congress is not calling for this to stop. EEO offices are legally mandated. And employees should not be penalized for taking required training or participating in sponsored activities that were encouraged in prior Administrations. |
| Anyone involved in racist and exclusionary programs should be removed and terminated. This is a voluntary position; no one is forced to take it. I don’t want individuals with this mindset managing any part of the federal government. |
If by racist and exclusionary, you mean considering candidates who aren’t strictly the usual mediocre white men, then a lot of people are guilty. Double if you count the people who hired veterans based on the heavy preference they get in the hiring process. |

To be clear, firing all probationaries in all departments and agencies has nothing to do with government efficiency (DOGE's mission), with improving IT (USDS's mission), or with removing DEI (the "actual" goal).
Firing huge numbers of the federal workforce and replacing some of them with AI is a tech bro libertarian dream. This is not what Republicans voted for. And it's not what Musk is authorized to do. |

I agree that anyone involved in racist and exclusionary practices has any business being in government. Except that's the exact opposite of what DEI is. |
| Doesn't DEI include 508 compliancy? You know, the push to make everything accessible and inclusive to audio/visually impaired people? Will people be fired for coding documents to be read by assistive technology or making things extra legible and high contrast for colorblind people? |
But it was ok for that DOGE staffer to get rehired when he was tweeting blatantly racist comments only six months ago? I see your party's hypocrisy and find it disgusting. Eff off. |
POTUS and co. dropped the “A” (A for accessibility). POTUS does not describe it as D-E-I-A” They dropped A on purpose. We still like ADA laws. Although I am not sure how the rollbacks of the Civil Rights Act affect disabled peoples and who is talking about that. Seems important to me |
| I don't know about jobs, etc. but I am happy that biological men are banned from women's sports. That was a mockery and wrong at every single level. Feel anyway you wants, identify anyway you want, dress anyway you like, and choose whatever relationship you want to be in, but stay away from women's sports. That part I am happy about. |
People will be fired if they have ever expressed any semblance of sympathy, empathy, or basic consideration for other humans. |
Why not let the states decide? /s |
DEIA is literally inclusionary. I work for a super diverse organization and my colleagues who are mostly people of color appreciate our organization's DEI efforts. We are better for it and it helps us be better at servicing a very diverse population. The people I see who hate DEIA seem to both live and work in very white bubbles. |
POTUS fired 508 compliance folks. He has also rescinded all ADA accommodations. |
