33 weeks and just slipped a disk in my back

Anonymous
i have been feeling really guilty that my husband is doing so much around that house and so last friday i went on a tear and tried to do a normal days worth of housework and gardening. not a good idea, since i slipped a disk. the chiropractor was able to work with my back some, but being that the disk is midback, directly behind my big belly, it is hard to manipulate. he did say that it is not uncommon for pregnant women to have this problem.

i am wondering how many other women out there have had or do have this problem and what you did/do about it. how do you find a comfortable position? is it possible to sleep at night rather than tossing and turning and building small pillow forts? can anyone recommend pain relief or stretches? my fear of labor is now amplified and i really want to make sure my body is as strong as it can be before my due date.

thank you in advance for any advice you might have.

Have you talked to your OB. I went into pregnancy with a herniated disk and it got worse as I got bigger. However my OB referred me to a physical therapist and it helped tons. I went to the GW physical therapy people that are near 2141 K. Good luck!
