Snow Days w/New OPM

How is everyone handling snow days with their nanny? Our contracts always followed OPM for snow days which now that we have RTO and telework (basically snow days no longer exist for feds) it is not very helpful.

This is how snow days have been since 2015 or so - if you are telework ready you have to telework on a snow day or take leave. I think the bigger difference will be that OPM may be less likely to grant liberal telework, though they did today.

At our agency, supervisors were typically more willing to be lenient about having childcare on a snow day than they are generally. My kids are older now, but when they were younger, I could still work around nap time and strategically placed iPad sessions.

Since you have to be in the office it seems like you need the nanny? If OPM starts making decisions that feel unsafe, take leave and give her the day too.
