It makes me feel so happy. I love how short and fun the episodes are, the cast is perfect (Diana Trout especially is such a great character!), just pure escapism but not stupid. Is there anything else like it? |
Workin’ Moms
Catastrophe |
Loved Workin' Moms! Could not get into Catastrophe. |
Maybe Hacks, on HBO?
Broad City has a different style of humor, but a similar woman-friends-in-NYC feeling. If you’re okay with subtitles, there are a lot of kdrama romcoms that might fit the bill. There are sometimes cheesy cliches, but the shows are strong in that “community of friends” feeling. There are a few threads here with recommendations, but a few that come to mind in relation to Younger are Run On and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Crash Landing on You is a widely loved favorite (stick through the first couple of episodes if you’re unsure, it gets better and better). If you want a smaller taste of the kdrama style, I just watched a really cute movie called Miss Granny, where a (somewhat unpleasant) older lady wakes up in the body of a 20-year-old and gets the chance to make some changes in her life. It’s on Netflix. |
Try The Bold Type, about 3 young girls working at a magazine in NYC (think Allure or Cosmo). The Editor in Chief character is fantastic. |
The actress who plays Diana Trout is hilarious. I love her! |
I'm watching reruns of Friends. I liked it fine originally. But really enjoying it now as a great diversion. |
I loved Crash Landing on You. Also really liked Broad City. Will try Hacks. |
Did you know she plays the bed-ridden dying artist in The Americans Elizabeth becomes a nurse for? I actually remember that character very well because it was such a great guest part, but I didn't know it was the same actress! |
New Girl? |
Call My Agent, the original French version, hit the same notes for me. |
Yup |
Try Jane the Virgin or Search Party! |

Workin Moms, nobody wants this.
older shows: cougar town and don't trust the B in apartment 3C or something like that. |
