I wouldn’t buy a tennis racquet for your son before he tries it. Most tennis stores will let you demo up to three racquets at a time. Some even have ball machines to try them at the stores. I think String Theory in Falls Church has a ball machine and cage. There are a few online stores such as Tennis Express and Tennis Warehouse that also offer demos.

Got it! I was just making sure he would demo them first. My son's racquet is a Head Gravity MP. Before that, he had a Wilson Blade. Others that he demoed were the Babolat Pure Aero 98 and Technifibre Tfight ISO 300.

I'm a 4.5 player and I like the Babolat PureStrike.
