We are looking to spend a week in the Caribbean with our teens(17, 16, 15, 14) and are hoping for something fairly nice for the adults but where the kids won't be bored. Doesn't have to be all inclusive but not opposed to it. Ideally lots of nice pool and beach time with some waterfalls, hikes and/or ziplining thrown in? |
Sounds like you actually want Costa Rica. |
Where have you been before OP? |
Saint Lucia might work with your desire to hike and zipline. |
Half Moon in Jamaica might fit your needs. I agree with PP re Costa Rica. |
Barbados might fit the bill. It has a leeward side with white sandy beaches and calm blue water, as well as a windward side with rainforest and rough terrain that’s fun for hiking. It’s also a safe island to explore on your own. |

What is your budget? |
Half Moon in Jamaica is lovely for a couple but I think my teenagers would be super bored. |
I'd do more like a Beaches Ocho Rios in Jamaica where there are unlimited water/land sports + golf and they'll help you book excursions like the waterfalls and ziplines. Or did you want more upscale? https://www.beaches.com/resorts/ocho-rios/vacation-add-ons/local-tours/ Our teens enjoyed Grand Cayman - wasn't our fave - but the Ritz had a ton of water-sports and excursions we could take. |
Side bar: 2008-2012 must have been a doozy for you all. |
Atlantis. |
XCaret or Moon Palace Grande in Cancun |
What about Puerto Rico? |
