Which private schools curve students' grades? Good or bad?

Curious—which NYC private schools curve grades? Especially in higher grades (high school), I feel like curving creates more internal competition—probably some students get a boost, but it can also kill collaboration and make everything feel like a constant ranking game. On the flip side, not curving keeps things straightforward, but maybe too harsh or actually helpful?

Seems like Horace Mann curves, Trinity doesn’t? Any thoughts on whether this actually matters based on your experience, or is it just one of those things people overthink?
