If your 8th grader took the admissions test yesterday, how did they do?
Mine said the PSE took longer than expected and had to rush the SPS portion of it. |
General consensus of my son and his friends was that the PSE was long and kind of annoying. |
My son found the PSE to be much easier than most of the practice ones, but agree it was long and kind of annoying! |
My DD took it yesterday and didn’t seem bothered by the PSE question or the SPS. She said she finished with 20 minutes left so either she rushed through everything and (perhaps) missed something in the process, or she nailed it. Honestly just glad it’s behind us now 😅 |

Mine said it was much longer than expected - 9 questions vs. 2 last year. Mine didn't have time for 2 out of 9.
My impression is that ever since the change in admission testing, they are still tinkering with the test formats to see what works best, maybe looking at last year's and adjusting things. |
Mine said the PSE was pretty long and took a lot of time to solve. He talked about it in 3 sections, and said that he didn't a chance to complete the 3rd section though he did get to outline the steps he would take.

Good! The less students know about what they're going to see coming in, the more valuable the assessment is. |
Similar; I don't understand what people are talking about with 9 sections. Mine said there were 3 sections for the PSE, and that he was confident that he did the first two sections perfectly, but he wasn't sure how he did on the third section. |
Maybe more than one question per section? |
The “sections” is just based on how kids looked at the PSE and broke it down when they answered. |
My kid said 5 sections and some sections have smaller questions in it. Ha! |
