The opening festivities for the new Yards Park near the ballpark was supposed to include fireworks at 9 PM, I think on both Friday and Saturday nights. I'll bet that's what you heard, though I didn't hear anything from Adams Morgan.
BTW, we went in the afternoon and loved it. Great fountains for kids to play in, cool sculpture, and a butterfly- and bee- riffic rain garden with great views... of the Anacostia (who knew?!) Now *that's* what an urban park should look like, only this one is small and we need many more. |

| We were driving in DC last night (Saturday) and saw fireworks coming from the direction of the Nationals Stadium at around 9 pm or so. |
