When do ES teachers typically recommend which Math level the student would be in Middle School?

Our child is a 5th grader and will be going to a MCPS middle school. We understand that ES teachers recommend whether or not the child needs Math enrichment at middle school and at what level since there are multiple levels of math enrichment for 6th graders. Just wondering when the Math teachers do that? Is it based on Winter grades, or Spring grades? Also, is MAP-M score taken into account?

We have so many mandates and they change so quickly. My middle already has done articulation for math with the elementary schools. But, that was before the county came out with another new course for 6th graders. We were told that it would for students identified but some AEI/CO office .
