Please tell me there is snow/ice/sleet somewhere in the county

Did it sleet or snow anywhere in the county? MCPS canceled all activities after 12pm and there is nothing here in Bethesda.

They cancel based on FORECASTS.

Forecasts are predictions based on models, which are not guaranteed.

This isn't that hard to understand. I don't get why people get their panties in a bunch because a forecast is wrong. Do they not understand what a forecast is?

Careful, you may be communicating with a meteorologist a few live in or around Bethesda.

I’m with you OP.
My kid played basketball because hwe gave this morning. All the afternoon games got canceled. They should have kept them running as scheduled.

Don’t you think they should cancel based on the actual conditions? They could have cancelled all activities for today IF it actually started sleeting or the conditions were bad. Same for school. Forecasts are more often wrong than right.

This is the 2nd time my kids basketball game was cancelled. They keep rescheduling the games, this way the season might not end till mid march!

And they were so off in predicting within a few hours. Announcement came at 6am for activities that were to start 6 hours later at 12pm.
