Lakefront hotels in Switzerland

| Looking for recommendations for a lakefront hotel for 2-3 days. This would be following 10 days of hiking in the Alps around the Bernese Oberland and before we fly out of Zurich. Late August. Envision a nice charming old fashioned hotel on a lake where we can relax and swim in the lake and do mild water sports and local walks and some food options. I'd rather stay in a smaller older place than a fancy resort-like hotel but open to all ideas. Anyone have suggestions from past trips? Thanks! |

Loved Lake Maggiore - half in Italy/half in Switzerland. Hotel is beautiful and Ascona is so charming. They speak Italian and lots of Italian restaurants if that’s a plus. Looks like they are doing renovations so make sure construction will be done when you go. Beautiful hikes nearby and the hotel has e-bikes you can take up to the top of the mountain plus boats to go out on the lake. Great spot! |
