TJHSST Admissions REAL Math/Science Problem-Solving Essay (PSE)

Anonymous
Does TJ admissions release the test problem to public on the same day as the exam? Where is the problem posted, or do you need to sign up with TJ admissions to receive it? This video was posted on Feb 3, 2024 the same day the exam was conducted last year.

TJ keeps the tears "secret".

Students tell their tutoring centers what the questions were.
Tutoring centers make videos.

Other people copied those leaked tests.

My kids prep class had the question and solution posted yesterday. I am not sure how they got it word for word - it was too exact for a kid to have provided it IMHO. also seems really unfair since kids that couldn’t make it yesterday have an upcoming makeup option - do they give them a different question?

This is why we never have nice things.

So they send someone in to take the test just to memorize the question?

Is it true that PSE evaluators look for reasoning before arithmetic accuracy? Ie they would give credit if the test taker explains the solution properly but then writes in something like 120:3=50? Just for a example.

Our prep class asked for the problem wording input immediately after the test and generated the solution by end of the day. They don’t have it ahead of time.

Is this an "asking for a friend"? My kid did basically that exact same thing... or rounded to 4 instead of 3.8 in the 2nd part which made his answer in the 3rd part incorrect. I assume they will look to see if his answer to the 3rd part was done correctly with the numbers he was using rather than counting it totally wrong if the answer is wrong... but I have no idea.

Yes ma’am, asking for a friend my kid in the same boat. What’s done is done.

They do different prompts for the makeup session. Last year it was a question on solubility, while the first-day test takers got a math question.
