Would you do 7 or 8 days? Mid summer (early July) |
Too long for me. There is not a lot to do. |
It’s a beach vacation — would you rather have an extra day at the beach or use it for something else? |
Don’t a lot of places rent weekly? |
How is 1 day all that different either way? |
Op here. Thanks all! I haven’t ever spent this many days on a beach trip so I was curious if it’s negligible overall - not much to sightsee but does that extra beach day feel worth an extra day or no?
We’re in a hotel so cost again, negligible for an extra day. |
Seems like a personal choice. I get tired of hotels after a few days, so I’d probably opt for 7 days. |
There is so much to see and do on MV during the summer. You just need access to a car so you can move around the island to experience it all. But most house rentals are weekly, starting with a 7-day min. So that might inform your decision. 8 days would feel
too long at a hotel, but probably too short at house. |
What hotel? Unlike Nantucket, for example, public beach access is limited. |
I would do 7 days |
You're gonna be bored. |
I grew up going to MV and my parents still have a place there. I’d just do whatever the rental agreement states and not pay extra for an 8th day. A week on MV is great, it’s a beach vacation with cute towns and good food but you aren’t going to be like going out to see different shows and museums etc. for us MV is about relaxing at the beach and house and enjoying eachother. |
The Edgar is the hotel |
Thank you all PPs for sharing thoughts! |
If you are staying in a rental, it will likely be for one week. If you are bringing a car (useful for seeing the different towns), definitely get ferry reservations if not included with your rental. We found a week was just right (& we didn't spend every day on the beach), stopped in Boston on the way home. |
