People are evacuating Santorini.

Why are they evacuating?

What kind of alarmist are you OP? I mean yes maybe if you have a vacation there in the next couple of weeks you would want to monitor but there’s no reason at this time to blankets cancel vacations to Greece!

It's a big country. Plenty of itineraries that do not include Santorini.

The last time there was a major earthquake in Santorini, it blew Atlantis to smithereens.

It has a dramatic geological history.

Santorini is an island the size of a postage stamp. There’s plenty of other places to go.

The 1956 Greece earthquake caused destruction and deaths on two islands and a 25 meter tsunami (that's a huge tsunami). If I were scheduled for a Greek isles cruise I would postpone. Most buildings on the islands weren't built to withstand a major seismic event, and it's a very seismically vulnerable area. Also they don't need tourists around while they try to help actual residents prepare.

Don’t go to Turkey, you’ll get abducted or trip on Russians

Santorini is a wonderful place. So sad to hear this. We swam in the caldera when we were there a few years ago. Not sore if so that now, even before hearing this.

Tectonic, not volcanic, tremors. Some quite strong, and almost constant. It’s making life difficult for the islanders.

Seriously. It’s like saying “cancel your trip to the US, there are earthquakes in San Francisco!”
