I have it in my knees, thumb, and lord knows where else. But I LOVE being active for the physical and mental benefits. I'm pretty open regarding diet and eat everything in moderation. Don't drink much, but have a sweet tooth. Eat abundant fruits/vegetables.
Has changing your diet had a noticeable effect on your arthritis? What changes did you make, and how long did it take to notice a difference? |

Following this thread. I just stared noticing it in one of my big toes and one knuckle. My Dr recommended glucosamine which I’ve started taking daily. We’ll see. I’m still very active and want to keep it that way. I’m 52 |
My rheumatologist recommended the Mediterranean diet. There are no supplements that help. Although I do think giving up gluten and red meat has helped me. |
I didn’t notice a positive difference with any diet change, but my “normal” diet is pretty healthy: vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, healthy fats, etc. |
Sugar and wheat = pain increase for me. Especially sugar. Makes a huge difference. Wheat and dairy also messes with my IBS-C, so I avoid all 3 the majority of the time. |
