Day without Immigrants: daycare closed?

Are any of your daycare closed for the Day without Immigrants? If so, how much notice did you get?

What???? I assume this is some sort of protest day. Whatever it is childcare centers should not be closing for political reasons. That is ridiculous and harmful to the families they serve.

Well hopefully legal immigrants are staffing the daycares. As a daycare owner we only hire foreign nationals who have immigrants and green cards. Guess what??? There are plenty of them.

Yikes. But no, everyone working in daycare centers goes through fingerprinting and background checks, so all people who work there have green cards or citizenship. Otherwise, it would be a scary world indeed.

Lol not really. They want high paying salaries

Everyone knows childcare doesn't pay well. Even centers don't pay well. That's why many people quit and are citizens, most don't like the jobs and you keep seeing new faces. Pay is low

Many Teachers from public schools has to get a second job to survive.

This country doesn't value early educators much. Their salaries should be much better

Why is it being assumed the immigrants are undocumented? Trump isn't just targeting immigrants that don't have any status or work authorization.

That being said I don't think this sort of action targeting DMV families is particularly useful. Not a lot of those families voted for Trump and most already value immigrants (many of us are immigrants).
