ranges of stats?
|
|
Also, how do the stats differ between ED and RD?
|
| It really only matters what the scattergram looks like at your school, OP. |
| My sons attended a private high school in SF. For my son’s class of ‘22, out of 135 seniors, 11 got accepted to Cornell. I thought that was pretty extraordinary. |
It’s a big school. |
FWIW my kid was within the scattergrams but was waitlisted RD. |
|
for admitted RD:
3.7-3.9 GPA 1440-1560 SAT (one outlier with 3.5 GPA and 1310 SAT) all GPAs are unweighted CA private |
Welp, you must be a strong private school. Our school scattergam looks different. |
| NYC private, ED GPA range 3.6 - 3.9, SAT 1450 to 1520. For RD, 3.7 to 4.0, SAT 1490 to 1580. |
How many kids do you think ended up attending? |
|
SAT: 1390-1580
GPA: 3.6-3.9 From 2020-2024 with 30 applicants and 18 acceptances |
135 kids applied to Cornell? |
Both my kids admitted ED from DC catholic schools. Here is their range of stats which I think is indicative of the range of kids that Cornell admits: Kid 1. 34 ACT 3.7 UW Kid 2. 1580 SAT 4.0 W |
We don't have a way of knowing that at our school. |

The different colleges at Cornell have different stat ranges. That’s the big secret about Cornell undergraduate admissions.
There isn’t just one admissions office. Every college handles it on its own and each one is looking for something different. |
