This is kid dependent and, to some extent, instructor dependent. I had 2 kids take classes here and 1 progressed quickly And one VERY slowly. The slower kid started out afraid of the water. Based on talking to other parents, my impression is that kids who start out with more water experience, even if the can’t swim, progress faster.
You may get people telling you that British swim is terrible. And also people saying that it’s great. And it can be both of these things. Some of the instructors are really great and some aren’t. So, don’t hesitate to change times/instructors if you need to. One advantage of a place like British swim or goldfish is that their locations and times can be more convenient than a local rec center. But, it’s probably not the only set of swim lessons your kid will ever take.
