Never been to either, would be for 4 days |
Rome for me. Prague is pretty but I am not sure you need 4 days for it. I think Prague probably also feels more crowded with tourists altho the Jubilee people will chime in to say not this year. |
Rome for sure |
Rome. |
Prague is great for 2 days or so. If you have more time, combine with Krakow or Berlin.
Otherwise, do Rome. |
Definitely much more to see in Rome than Prague. |
Rome has more to do/see but love Prague too. When would you be going? I would definitely avoid Rome late June-Aug. it can be beyond hot and miserable. |
We would be going in April |
If you are going to Rome in April around Easter, just remember that it is a real religious holiday there and lots of stores and restaurants will be closed. Not sure about museums, etc but you should check to make sure what you want to see/do will be open.
I personally love Rome and have been there at least 5 times but wouldn't go during the Jubilee madness this summer. We were in Prague for 4 days last September and absolutely loved it. Great city! |
Been to both many times. Prague is a spectacularly pretty city but no great works of art (the city itself is the art). Rome is a beautiful city with fantastic art.
Rome is the winner hands down because there's just so much more to see from the ruins of classical Rome to baroque Rome. |
Your assessment of Prague just means that you don’t know about their art, not that it isn’t there… Four days in Prague |
Rome is great but it's going to be packed because of the Jubilee this year. |
I stand by what I say. There is not much in the way of great art in Prague. Quick, name me the famous museums and paintings in Prague. Waiting.... Still waiting..... Prague the city is the art, a clear contender for the most beautiful city in all of Europe, but you don't go to Prague for museums and art. You go for atmosphere and walking around a beautiful city and admiring its architecture. It's ok. I also love Copenhagen but I fully admit its museums aren't amazing and there really isn't a first rate art collection. |
