I just saw this on Amazon Prime for a little escapism. It was mindless but absolutely no chemistry with Will Farrell and Reese Witherspoon and I’ve never been a huge Will Ferrell fan. But, it’s fun and light and not too stupid or inane to be eye rolling. 7.7/10 if that’s what you are looking for. |
I'd say 6/10 but I'm sick in bed and it was ok in that context. |
Are they supposed to be romantically involved?
He’s 57 and she’s 48. And he’s an old 57 and she’s a young 48. |
Not to mention very significant difference in attractiveness. |
i enjoyed it. Fun, light, mindless rom-com that surprisingly wasn’t stupid. Yes, there was no chemistry between the leads but it was still good for what it was. |
Yep. Enjoyed it. Certain scenes have me surprised either of them would do this movie, but it was a mindless enjoyment for an hour and a half. |
I enjoyed it as well. Did anyone else think that the woman who played Reese's sister looked like a mix of Kate Hudson and Brittany Snow? |
Yes, to the Kate Hudson |
This was a miss for me. As a pp said, there was zero chemistry between Reese W and Will F - zero romantic chemistry but more importantly zero comedic chemistry.
Also, has Will F jumped the shark as an actor? He was just bad in this (vs Reese W was her usual appealing self). |
The mother was Jo from Alice! |
He jumped the alligator (that is when I turned it off) |
Is it funny? I can deal with no romantic chemistry if it's actually funny.
I watched that Clooney/Roberts movie Ticket to Paradise and they had no chemistry but also it wasn't even a little bit amusing. Their characters are unlikable and there is no one to root for. I should have turned it off but I'm a completionism and I wanted to finish it so I could hate the whole movie. But I could see Farrel and Witherspoon potentially being funnier so maybe that would make it okay? |
Cancel prime |
Yeah I'm not paying to not have commercials and I'm not watching commercials in some crappy Prime movie. |
I thought it was a fun movie. They should have just not made it a rom com at the end. As others said, they didn't have any romantic chemistry, but the comedy generally worked, and they're both funny/likable. |
