Not sure who falls in the "telework" category--are people who telework once a week included? Those who only telework on snow days? Those folks have telework agreements? |
Also, many agencies have only one location--so what do they do with their employees who are over 50 miles away. Thus edict contains inconsistencies and probably inadvertently is tasking DOD agencies to engage in a very large civilian musical chairs operation. |
| That is helpful, thanks for posting. |
| So those of us teleworkers who live within 50 miles and will need to come in everyday, how are we expected to work with our colleagues who do not have to come in? The burden should be on them to keep up with what is going on in the office, right? Or do we need to sit on email and teams all day keeping them in the loop? |
They're terminating remote work agreements, too. |
Those people will have to go in every day as well - just to another work site that is within 50 miles. If there's no work site available... |
Not for 4 months. (Off topic but these magical mythical other worksites are not going to exist for most people--the sending agency has to pay a rent to place their people in another location, and who thinks alternate locations have empty desks aplenty?) |
|
Does this mean that finally, finally credentialing and civiliar HR (Army) will work 8 hours a day? Specifically the 8 daylight hours that DoD civilians want their imperative questions answered? Yes please.
Every time I reached my POC in DoD HR (only when I disguised my phone number), her toddlers were screaming for her in the background. In Miami. |
We were told there is no flexibility for “other worksites” - everyone has to report to HQ even if you were hired remote |
If they take a few months to conclude that, that's a few more months my remote coworkers have to find new jobs. |
Pentagon or Mark Center |
| I'm Army and was told today we are expected to be there on Friday. |
| I think DLA HQC has the same issue. Less office space at Ft Belvoir. |
| What about OSD? |
| People choosing to telework the 4 months are putting targets on their own backs--they are setting themselves aside as a group that the secret can make a later decision on...this memo he put out is not a contract and he can change his mind on things |
