Lamb decided at 12:30pm Friday to close their doors to show the importance of immigrants. The non immigrant teachers are not working either. This isn’t being paired with any meaningful educational initiative or volunteer work. It’s just a day off. Parents only got Friday afternoon to figure out care tor Monday. And yes, this is after multiple days off for snow and an extra long holiday break (longer than dcps).

No one is telling you how to feel. The facts are the facts. This isn’t going to help anyone. Lamb could have organized a volunteering opportunity, started fundraising, etc. but instead they chose to give themselves the day off. Trust me the families posting how “happy” they are to support this are secretly texting their friends that this is absolute bullshit.

This sounds incredibly self indulgent and you sound sanctimonious as all get out. Immigrants didn't ask for any of this. They need you to do your job and teach their kids.
