| Under what basis? Is it ever successful? |
|
Maybe a huge increase at Winter MAP score or a major achievement of some kind in the fall.
There is almost 0 basis for the original selection basis, which is a loose MAP cutoff and essay vibes, so not much basis for appeal either |
| and it is appalling that there is no way you could protest their original decision like request re-review or re-evaluation. It is just appeal or plead them to consider something. Absolute zero transparency. |
| The one appeal I am aware of was because of a specific violation of the IEP during the testing process, back when students needed to go take the test on a Saturday. |
| Likely unless you can point to some serious flaw or wrongdoing the appeal is not going to be successful. No different than applying to college. Not everyone gets in. |
| How do you actually point to flaws even without knowing what went wrong ? |
I know of one like this too and the school system just brushed it off. |
Never heard of a success but there is zero transparency so it's impossible to tell what the process is and how fair it is. The new MCPS super should pledge to make things more transparent. |
