MS Choice magnets-can you reapply next year?

Does anyone know if you turn down a spot for 6th, whether you can apply in the lottery again for 7th if the home school doesn't work out? This would be for Parkland/Loiederman/Argyle.

OP here, just got this response from DCCAPS--just wanted to put this info out there:

Yes, you may reapply for a student going to be in grade 7 next year.

How? Only the new charter school business program would have new openings? There is not even an application form for 6th grade students. Is this new? If that was the case lots of families would reapply.

I think they are only starting with a few grades and expanding each year for the new charter.

The usual advice is to take the spot in the MSMC and try it out. If it doesn’t work out you are guaranteed to be able to go to your home school.

really? we moved from out of state in 7th grade and was told there was no prospects to apply because there were wait lists and that the entry year was grade 6.

You might have inquired too late in the application cycle. And you might have misinterpreted what was said.
